ALTERNATIVE POD KINDERGARTEN

Class size:

At the Hummingbird Academy, we pride ourselves on the ability to provide one on one instruction for all students. Our class size will always remain 10 or less students so that your child can feel like a part of a tight knit community.

Learning style:

The Hummingbird Academy is a student centered drop off POD/ Micro School learning environment. Students dictate the subjects in which they are interested in and it is the teacher's job to modify and scaffold those topics to be academically, developmentally appropriate and above all fun!

Small group lessons and partner activities will allow the children to engage with their peers and do a lot of self reflection as well as assessment. 

We will be doing all of our learning in 20 minute chunks because that is what is academically appropriate for little learners ages 4 through 6. 

We will utilize tactile learning whenever possible to meet all of our bodily kinesthetic learners needs. We will also partake in multi-sensory lessons to allow for every learning style to be engaged.

Our program focuses on developing your children’s skills so that they approach school with continued confidence, excitement and eagerness.
