MISSION STATEMENT

At The Hummingbird Academy, we are committed to inclusivity and education for all. As an alternative Kindergarten, we pride ourselves on student-led learning with core curriculum lessons. We foster an environment which welcomes all kinds of students and families regardless of race, orientation, economic status, and ability.

Welcome – The Hummingbird Academy is driven by the priority of creating KIND humans, with kindness being the foundation for our entire program. Additionally, we value and support all kinds of learners and strive to scaffold learning to meet all student needs.

Service – We provide multi-sensory lessons that allow learners to feel engaged in a meaningful, hands-on way. We strive to create a diverse climate where all learners feel valued, important, and proud of themselves.

Community – At The Hummingbird Academy, we plan to create a tie with the community through monthly special events with important community members such as the police, fire, and ambulance squads. We plan to have cultural lessons from community members of all lifestyles; our hope is to instill an open mind and adventurous heart in all of our learners.
